Try To Liven Up

I've been trying to lose weight and get into shape.

Why because I bought some Heavy Punching Bag gloves. Later,
last friday I went to the local Park district fieldhouse that has
boxing equipment.

As I walked in I noticed some old guys playing basketball.

Hey Elliott they shouted. Ok 2 of them. One was an old detective Jim Griffin who we would refer to as the dribbler. As in basketball dribbler. Jim is 75 yrs old
and one of the youngsters of the group. Someday I'll write some of my experiences with him.
A TRUE LEGEND IN HIS TIME...

Perry, who is 77, asked me to play.

I can barely think about moving without having shortness of breath.

So, that friday I started dribbling the ball across the half court by myself.

First, just a little more than a walk. then a jog and then a few good runs. But after every trip I would sit on a nearby bench and catch my breath.

I was wiped out until this morning. Of course I've been trying to walk and ride my bike during that time, but still trying to recoop from friday.
---------
Today, when I awoke I couldn't get going.

I emailed a friend, who is 80, how I felt. She wrote back Try To Liven Up...

so I went to Panerra.

Met the front window ladies, then the booth ladies, the rich guy and his wife, finally ending up with the back table group.

After all the nice women, Wow was I feeling great. Somehow, talking to women can really LIVEN ME UP!!

So Great I went home, did some laundry and took a nap.

Life is great

My Camera and The Flower

Yesterday, I went with my wife to COSTCO.

As I walked in I saw a new casio camera zx 850.

This is the new model of my camera that broke. I looked at other makes of camera's in that price range but most don't have a view finder.

The price was $379 and I know they just came out with a suggested price of $400. so I left my wife there and went down the street to Comp USA which is where my camera was bought - returned - and I had a gift card.

Comp USA did not have it and according to their computers--was out of stock and unavailable.

So I plead for mercy and they cashed in the card. But would not give me the warranty money back. $45. is what I spent for extended warranty.

I returned to Costco and asked about their warranty's.

They don't charge for any warranty and if it breaks return it. Unless it is obviously abused.

They had 18 in stock.

I opened it immediately upon arriving at home and it looks almost the same but just a little larger. It came with a small memory chip 256 and a camera bag.

It is sitting in the charger at this moment and I'll send photos today or tomorrow.

It has been since Jan 27th when the first camera broke. Since that time I have been disappointed that I didn't have a camera for those special photos.

But Now you will be complaining and everyone else about getting more photos from me. this camera has a manual and a cd for instruction.

--------------------
Today:
I'm playing with my new camera.

I tried using the Macro lens on this flower.

I don't know what I'm doing but it turned out nice.

We have Tulips and flowers all around the house.

Maybe later, I'll take lessons from Mr. Photo Magic and improve on the flower photos and other photos

Jessie is Married

Hi Everyone,
Today it happened.

I showered, went to Panerra and then to the Golf Dome to meet some guys and hit some golf balls.

Luckily they were not there and I could work on my back swing and follow-thru without worrying about impressing them.

---------------
The Newlyweds

Mark & Jessie

While hitting the golf balls, my cell phone rang.
It has a Polish polka sound for the ringer.

It was Jessica, my daughter, informing me that she was married.

I congratulated her and called her Mrs. Icusss and she laughed and said the wedding was really nice.

They went to get married yesterday but only got a license.
So returned today for the ceremony.

She sounded happy and that’s what life is all about, isn't it.
--------------------
I felt good too until something happened.

I was taking a break from hitting golf balls sitting on a chair looking at others hit some balls.

This short stocky man about my age walked up to me and said something wonderful, no not about Jessie.
"You have a wonderful swing" it’s so sweet

Wow, I thought I was happy after talking to Jessie but now my chest was pushed out a little bit further. Almost past my stomach.

I don’t' know how to take a compliment and started talking to him about golf.

I returned to the golf balls and hit some more.
I needed another break and returned to my chair.

Suddenly, Tony,
who had a wicked outside-in swing causing a big slice sat next to me and he also said "Hey you have a great looking swing"

Now, I took my fingers off my wrist (feeling my pulse) and stuck my chest out even further---actually it might have been out further than my stomach.

IMAGINE THAT.

I felt so wonderful, except for being worn out, that I went and bought 6 coconut donuts and 6 white frosted long johns.

On the way home I ate a donut and a half and a long john. When I got home I ate the other half donut and 2 long johns.

What a way to celebrate JESSIE ICUSS' wedding and 2 golf compliments.

c'ya at US OPEN...

jim---I now have a real Son-In-Law--elliott

Ps: today the new Mr.& Mrs. Mark Icuss are driving over here to drop off their car and I’ll drive them to the airport.

I took their photo and its pasted above.

On their honeymoon they say they are going to Jackson Hole Wyoming.
Hey, they like it there.

I can't wait to tell them about the two golf compliments....

Neighbors Christmas Dinner at the Mecca

Whats wrong with me?

I go to a Christmas party at the Mecca Restaurant with friends and I leave early.

We arrived at 7pm and the bar/restaurant was not very busy.

The 14 of us were seated at a long table.

We had a pre-dinner drink, ordered our meals and had great conversation, curing all the problems.

At about 9pm, a few had to leave.

The rest continued to talk and a few started to go to the bar.

As soon as we walked away from the table, it was cleared off by the staff and moved from its location.

Almost instantly, the crystal mirrored ball lit up, spot lights pointed in a ever changing directions.

THE DANCE FLOOR WAS OPEN.. Only 5 of us stayed at the bar and were bumped over and over by folks walking past us to get to the dance floor.

It wasn't too soon after, that the joint was filled up with kids, you know the under 40 set.

Sad, Frank Sinatra's and Beyonce's soon blasted from the speakers.

Its amazing what a cheap Karioke machine makes people do.

It got so loud, I said good-nite and told Karolyn to call when she wanted to be picked up.

I went home and to sleep before midnight...I heard her come home at 2am.

Laughing and joking with those that drove her home.

I was so glad she had a nice time and I enjoyed the peace of my home and bed.

SO WHATS WRONG WITH THAT PICTURE, NOTHING.

We both enjoyed the evening.

Oh, it was her 58th bday dec 10th, and a couple rounds of Happy Birthday made her night.

Thats all folks good nite c'ya jim

Its the Christmas Season-Not Happy Holidays

What is this Happy Holiday Greeting baloney?

I was in Panerra yesterday morning with 4 guys just bs-ing.

A young couple sitting next to us, finished eating and as they were leaving said "Happy Holidays".

At first we started to reply "Happy Holidays" back when one old member said
"Hell no, its not Happy Holidays, ITS MERRY CHRISTMAS...

Everyone woke up and agreed including the young couple.

We looked around Panerra and there were signs selling Christmas gift cards
from Panerra,
but not one ornament celebrating Christmas or the birth of the baby.

Merry Christmas---isn't that when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ...

You know I'm not very church going, but again the Politically Correct are changingmy life style.

I mean Christmas is Christmas, its not Happy Holidays...

So from this Chicagoan, to all of you.

May you all have a very Merry Christmas season...

Krazy Kats

Good morning to you all.

Cats...I hate them....now more than ever...our cats I hate more.

Tues morning our cat Braveheart had been sick for over a day.

The nicest cat, Braveheart was throwing up constantly and it started to have a little brown tint to it.

Tuesday was the day I went to the dentist for filling replacement.I had the old ugly silver fillings replaced with tooth looking filler.

Numbness shots over the entire inside of my mouth.

It took about an hour maybe longer. I got up and stumbled my way to the front desk, where Karolyn works and sits.

I barely make it to the desk and she says the cat has a veterinarian appointment in 5 minutes but they will wait for you.

I rushed home, got the cage, cleaned it out , put in a small towel and the cat and covered over it with a larger towel for warmth.

Rushed to the Vet office and started to talk. They stopped me and said you must beMr. Elliott, your wife just called from the Dentist office. THEN THEY LAUGHED AS THEY LOOKED AT ME.

They apologized and went on with the visit.

Dr. Mary Beth who loves animals so much came in and took Braveheart away.

She came back and discussed how the xray showed that Bravehearts stomach was upset. Probably from the Hibiscus plant he likes to chew on.

She said have a nice Christmas and see ya next time.

Oh, I was glad to leave and walked to the front desk and said "How MUCH"

A few minutes later I awoke after collapsing.

I apologized and gave them my credit card.

They said do you think thats too much money.

I SAID YES: THERE IS NO CAT WORTH $307.00.

What was that goofy doctor thinking. What was I thinking?

$307.00 just before Christmas and Karolyn's bday on Dec 10th.

I picked up the cat who showed no gratitude and staggered to my car.

I was going to buy a nice gift for myself, err..I mean for Karolyn's birthday.

So I paid $307.00 for a Cats STOMACH ACHE....

I hate cats....
